 POPPY JASPER: is just one of the many varieties of Jasper; a fine grained opaque crypto-crystalline type of Quartz (called Chalcedony) that forms in a multitude of varying colors and patterns. Found worldwide, Jasper often contains organic material and mineral oxides which give it interesting patterns, bands and colors. Poppy Jasper is distinguished by its mottled shades of red, pink and black, deriving its name because it looks like a field of pink and red poppy flowers.

Like its close relative, Brecciated Jasper, It is said to benefit one's relationship with animals and help alleviate animal allergies.
