 RHYOLITE: (also called "Rainforest Jasper") is very closely related to granite. The difference is that Rhyolite has much finer crystals. It is predominately composed of Quartz, Feldspar, Mica and Hornblende. The name Rhyolite is derived from the Greek word "rhyx", which translates to "streams of lava". Although the terms "Ryolite" and "Rhyolite" are often used interchangeably, the names used to define their color varies greatly. The stone referred to as "Rhyolite" by geologists is generally described as being gray, brown, or reddish in color with streaks or patches.

Rhyolite is regarded as a stone of resolution and perseverance. It is said to enhance all types of communication (written, oral and body language), as well as helping to listen clearly - without distorting the message that one is hearing.
