 FLUORITE: (also called "Fluorspar") is a mineral composed of calcium fluoride. The name Fluorite is derived from the Latin word "fluo", meaning "flow". Fluorite is most popular for its rich purple color which rivals that of Amethyst, but also for its wide range of other colors including yellow, blue, pink and green which can often be found banded together in a single stone creating a rainbow effect. The ancient Egyptians used Fluorite to carve statues and scarabs, the Chinese have used it in carvings for over 300 years.  Fluorite is said to absorb and neutralize negative vibrations as well as making one more receptive to the vibrations of other stones. Fluorite is also known as the "Genius Stone" and is said to increase concentration and help with decision making.
