RENEWAL, PEACE, HOPE, LOVE & GENTLENESS

DOVE has long stood for Love, Peace and Hope. Among Christians, it is the only animal still represented openly in religious symbolism. According to the Old Testament, it was Dove who brought the olive branch to Noah letting the people and animals know that the Biblical flood waters had finally subsided. In Greek mythology, Dove was the bird of Athena who represented the renewal of life. In ancient Japan, Dove brought the sword to the god Hackiman, announcing the end of the war.

The most gentle of creatures, Dove is believed to be the embodiment of feminine energy especially as it relates to creating a happy home and joy with loved ones. Dove teaches us to release our grudges and to set aside our anger and thoughts of vindication. To hear Dove's mournful call speaks to our deepest selves and stirs emotions. Many believe Dove’s voice to be a direct communication from the Holy Spirit, reminding us that we are protected and cared for.
